# Sharing and permissions

> Share a folder with your whole team or with chosen teammates, and decide who can use, edit or manage it.

You share folders, not single snippets. Everyone you share a folder with can use everything inside it: its snippets and its prompts. Anything you add to the folder later is shared too.

## Share a folder

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the folder's menu">
    On the Snippets page, right-click the folder in the rail and choose **Share with team…**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose who">
    Pick **Whole team** or a teammate. Use the search box to find people by name or email.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the access level">
    See the table below.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Share">
    It's in their extension and dashboard straight away.
  </Step>
</Steps>

| Access level | What they can do |
| - | - |
| **Can use** | Use everything in the folder. |
| **Can edit** | Use and edit the items inside. |
| **Full control** | Everything, including sharing. Only for single teammates, not the whole team. |

**People with access** lists everyone who has the folder, who shared it and when. The folder owner and team admins can change a level there, or remove someone with the bin icon.

## Good to know

* **Sharing needs a team.** If you don't have one yet, the share window lets you create it on the spot.
* **A folder belongs to one team.** Once shared with a team, it stays with that team.
* **Only the folder's owner or a team admin can change its sharing.** Everyone else sees who has access.
* **Team sharing and Notion sync are separate.** Sharing is inside SprintBrain and reaches teammates at once. [Notion sync](/integrations/notion-sync) brings snippets in from a Notion database and doesn't change who can see what.

See [Your team](/team/workspace) to invite people.
